In a world where people can wield magic, Rygart Arrow, a young man, struggles to fit in. He's an "un-sorcerer", unable to control quartz, which is used to create light, operate machinery, and pilot giant mecha called Golems. This makes daily life challenging and earns him disdain from others. Despite these difficulties, Rygart befriends the future King and Queen of the Krisna Kingdom, Hodr and Sigyn, as well as Zess, the brother of the Secretary of War of the Athens Commonwealth.
