Walter Blunt, a British newscaster, moves to Los Angeles to dominate American cable TV. He hosts a nightly interview show to share his views on how Americans should live, think, and behave. However, his goals are constantly thwarted by meddling network executives, a disorganized news team, and his numerous ex-wives and children. As he navigates the chaos, Blunt must confront the consequences of his well-meaning but misguided actions, both on and off the air, with the help of his loyal but inebriated manservant.
