The film is divided into five chapters, following the story of journalist Khadija Young, who is captured in Mosul and tortured to reveal her affiliation with the state department. As she is interrogated, she establishes her identity and that of her captor, and later reveals her work for the CIA. The captors plan to bomb the American embassy compound in Baghdad, but Khadija and her cellmate, soldier Lucas White, feed them false information about the embassy's entry codes.
