Jerry Larabee, a gangster with musical talents, is imprisoned after a shootout with rival mobster Spadoni. While in prison, he finds redemption through his music and becomes a radio sensation. After his release, he struggles with fame and confidence, but ultimately finds his way back to his old gang and the woman he loves, Mary. With the truth about his imprisonment revealed and Spadoni dead, Jerry is able to start anew and marry Mary with the help of the warden.
