An American attack on German-held San Corrado forces the Germans to abandon the town, leaving behind a captured Italian partisan leader. Fearing the partisan will organize attacks on their forces if turned over to the Americans, the Germans dispatch a top agent to infiltrate the town, posing as a stranded American soldier, to recapture or eliminate the partisan leader.

As the US Army patrols through war-torn Italy during World War 2, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues when an undercover German agent, disguising himself as a fellow soldier, begins to systematically eliminate the American personnel.
