A government marshal, posing as an outlaw, arrives in Bannack, Montana to restore law and order. However, he is recognized by the co-owner of the infamous Bull Whip saloon, who keeps his true identity a secret. As the marshal investigates a stage holdup, he is falsely accused of murder and must escape from jail with the help of his friends. He then rounds up vigilantes and heads for a showdown at the saloon, where he confronts the real leader of the road agents.
