Stevie Carson, a young woman with big ambitions, visits the city room of "The Gazette" to pursue a career in journalism. She befriends feature editor Bill Monroe, who introduces her to the publisher, Channing Bliss. Stevie discovers that Bliss has acquired a rare book that may be a forgery, and she teams up with Bill to uncover the truth. However, their investigation puts them in danger, and Bill is accused of being involved with a forgery gang. Stevie and Bill's fiancée, Linda, go to investigate a bookshop, only to be taken prisoner by the forger. Bill must clear his name and rescue Stevie and Linda before it's too late.
