In this quirky film, an eccentric old man, Algernon, spends his days conversing with a porcelain cat and crafting odd trinkets from animal bones. When a neighbor's deceased dog becomes available, Algernon sees an opportunity to acquire the perfect materials. His life takes a dramatic turn with the visit of an old friend, who is terminally ill and ultimately decides to take his own life, leaving behind a mysterious suitcase containing a substantial inheritance. A woman claiming to be fascinated by Algernon's ancestor, an Egyptologist, enters his life, and he becomes increasingly smitten, but her true intentions remain unclear.
