The Night Rider

A group of trail-herding cowhands, led by Tim, embark on a journey with their cook, Kentucky, who doubles as a skilled guitarist, and Joe, amidst the dreams of young Marty, a naive cowhand yearning to become a legendary gunfighter.

A trail-herding crew, led by Tim, consists of a cook, Kentucky, and three cowhands, including the young and impressionable Marty, who longs to be a gunfighter. One night, a mysterious gunfighter named Johnny Laredo joins them around the campfire, but soon leaves, leaving Marty with a sense of longing. Later, Laredo is involved in a fatal shootout with a young cowboy, Billy Joe, who tries to prove himself by drawing on Laredo. Horrified by the necessity of taking a life, Laredo attends Billy Joe's funeral and then joins the trail-herding crew, hoping to influence Marty away from a life of gunfighting.
