A young man purchases two horses at an Arizona racetrack, but neglects to obtain a receipt. Subsequently, while riding across the land of a rancher named Robeson, he is accused of stealing the horses. Despite being unable to prove ownership, the young man is sentenced to prison, where he is forced to perform grueling labor. He eventually escapes, only to be recaptured and make another daring escape as he seeks to find the individual who sold him the horses.
