An investigator is sent to Galilee to look into the disappearance of Jesus' body, but his mission takes an unexpected turn when he meets the wife of Pilate, who is intrigued by Jesus' personality. As he delves deeper, he discovers that Mary of Magdala has witnessed Jesus' resurrection and has gone into hiding. Convinced that Jesus is still alive, the investigator poses as a Christian to search for Mary, but his quest is complicated by her own disappearance.
