A modestly successful skating duo, Mary and Larry, face a crisis when Mary lands a picture contract while Larry remains unemployed. Seeking to prove himself, Larry leaves Hollywood and partners with a former collaborator to launch an ice revue in Canada, which becomes a massive hit, but comes at the cost of his relationship with Mary.
