In the 19th century, the Mission Guadalupe in Santa Fe is robbed of priceless treasures during a ceremonial pageant. The colonists accuse a mysterious outlaw, known as The Hawk, of the crime. An American, Steve Gant, offers a reward for the capture of The Hawk, dead or alive. Meanwhile, a man named Miguel Morago is mistaken for the outlaw by Gant's gunman, Killdane.

In the midst of a heist, a group of outlaws storms a mission, making off with valuable treasures, and the local community wrongly accuses the notorious outlaw "The Hawk," also known as "The Phantom of Santa Fe."
