Master thief Gerard Dennis escapes from a Canadian prison farm and makes his way to Buffalo, where he pulls off a robbery with the help of a crooked bartender and a woman named Peggy. However, his accomplices abandon him, and he is badly beaten. He meets a nurse named Martha Rollins, who falls in love with him and convinces him to give up his life of crime.
