In the early 20th century, a group of young girls are raised in a secluded college surrounded by dark forests and gloomy lakes in Thuringia, Germany. As they approach 16, they begin to question their origins, parents, and the strict rules enforced by the Headmistresses. When two girls mysteriously disappear, the atmosphere shifts from idyllic to ominous. An inspector from the nearby city must uncover the college's true purpose, while Hidalla fights against the destiny assigned to her by the Headmistress.
