Carla, a 17-year-old, spends the summer in East Berlin with her estranged father, a historian. She stays in a former butcher shop turned hotel, where she senses something amiss in her room. She discovers an old wardrobe with a mirror, which shows her an image of a young girl instead of herself. As she delves deeper, she experiences violent visions of a young butcher's daughter who helped a Jewish dissident hide from the Gestapo in the 1930s. However, her father, a Nazi supporter, had a dark secret: he raped the girl nightly. As Carla's visions intensify, she struggles to separate reality from her own fears, leading her to question her father's true intentions.
