A young woman, driven by a desire to climb the social ladder, finds herself entangled with a group of revolutionaries and imprisoned in a brutal concentration camp for women. Amidst the harsh conditions, a massive wooden machine, known as "The Big Bird Cage," dominates the camp, where prisoners risk their lives processing sugar under the watchful eye of a ruthless warden.
