The Barn Dance

Mickey Mouse's first film of 1929, "The Barn Dance", premiered on March 15th as part of the Mickey Mouse film series, marking the start of a year-long series of twelve shorts.

Mickey's plans to pick up Minnie for a barn dance are foiled by his rival Pete, who arrives in a car. However, Pete's vehicle breaks down, giving Mickey an opportunity to redeem himself. At the dance hall, Mickey's awkward dance moves on Minnie's feet only lead to rejection. But Mickey finds a creative solution, using a helium balloon in his pants to make him light and agile on his feet.
