The Ballad of Berlin

In a style reminiscent of German cabaret theatre, this film presents a ballad-like narrative with musical interludes. Set in 2050, the audience is transported back to Germany in 1948, where Otto Normalverbraucher, a war veteran, returns from service. His humorous and satirical account of the struggles faced by ordinary Germans in post-war, devastated Germany drives the story.
