A retiring Sheriff Horne pursues the Sawyer brothers, who robbed a bank, and captures one of them, Reese. Despite Reese's taunts, Horne is determined to bring him to justice, but faces challenges from the outlaw's father, Ross Sawyer, and a hired gunfighter. Meanwhile, the stagecoach depot's owners, the Parkers, are in financial trouble and secretly help Reese plan his escape, while a deputized gunfighter and Leah Parker, a mysterious teacher, also arrive at the depot, adding to the tension and danger.
