Song of Russia background

Song of Russia

During World War II, a propaganda film was created to educate the American public about the Soviet Union's efforts to combat Nazi Germany.

Famed American symphony conductor John Meredith tours Soviet Russia with his manager Hank, visiting a small rural town where Tchaikovsky was born. There, John meets Nadya, a sweet peasant girl with a talent for classical music, and they quickly marry. When war erupts, John wants to return to the US, but Nadya insists on staying to resist the approaching German forces threatening their village.
