In the 1960s, the Amato family - Romano, Rosa, and their two sons Giancarlo and Gigi - leave their Italian hometown of Solino to start a new life in Duisburg, Germany. They open the first pizzeria in town, which becomes a huge success. As the years pass, the brothers adjust to their new surroundings. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when they both fall in love with the same woman, leading to a bitter rift between them. Gigi returns to Solino with his mother, leaving Giancarlo behind. A decade later, the brothers reunite and reflect on the choices they've made and the paths their lives have taken.
