Gene Autry returns to the screen after serving in the Army Air Corps, starring in "Sioux City Sue". Sue Warner, a talent scout, searches for a singing cowboy and finds Gene Autry, a cattle rancher, and offers him a contract. However, Gene discovers they only want to use his voice in an animated cartoon, leading to a huff.
