Jimmy Wakely and his partner, "Cannonball", stumble upon the lifeless body of Don Muquel, a victim of murder and robbery at the hands of henchmen Ramsay and Sturgis.

In this movie, Jimmy Wakely and his partner "Cannonball" stumble upon the body of Don Muquel, who was murdered and robbed by henchmen Ramsay and Sturgis. Jimmy is initially accused of the crime by Jose Esteban, but his uncle Don Esteban clears his name. Meanwhile, Jose accuses the settlers of stealing land from the native Californians through violence and theft. However, it's revealed that surveyor Willard Jackson is behind the forged land-grant papers, and he's working to drive a wedge between the settlers and the Californians.
