When a poisonous weed infects the grazing lands, misguided ranchers mistakenly burn off the infected area, causing chaos. Gene Autry and his friend Frog Millhouse investigate, but face opposition and are mistaken for bank robbers. Gene eventually convinces the ranchers to use chemical spraying to eradicate the weed, while also romancing the rancher's daughter and saving the cattle from a stampede.
