A young girl named Romy is sent to live with her grandmother, Grandma Stine, after her mother gets a divorce. Grandma Stine is a hairdresser who is struggling with Alzheimer's disease. At first, Romy doesn't like having to go to the salon every day, but things change when Grandma Stine confides in her about her struggles with memory loss. Romy starts to take care of her grandmother and helps her run the salon. As time passes, Grandma Stine becomes sweeter and more childlike, sharing stories from her childhood in Denmark. Eventually, Romy comes up with a plan to make her grandmother's dream come true.
Romy's Salon
Romy is forced to spend her summer vacation with her strict and eccentric grandmother, Stine, who owns a hair salon. Despite the initial boredom, Romy finds herself helping her grandmother with customers and finances, using her charm to boost the salon's economy.
