Ridin' the Rails background

Ridin' the Rails

A documentary film about a group of hobbyists in Southern California who build and operate scale model steam locomotives, one inch to the foot, showcasing their impressive creations.

A Grantland Rice Sportscope from Paramount follows the Southern California branch of the Live Steam Model Locomotives Club as they build and ride their scaled, one-inch-to-the-foot, steam locomotives. The models are powerful enough for riders to travel along the elaborate tracks they build, with many replicas of US railway system locomotives. Walt Disney, a model-train expert, is featured building his "Diamond Slacker" and taking kids on his miniature system.
