Artie and Diane Decker, the parents of controlling mother Alice Simmons, agree to take care of her three spirited children--Harper, Turner, and Barker--because they feel that they don't see them enough, when she and her husband Phil go on a business trip. But when everything goes downhill, they need to find a way to prove to Alice, Phil, and themselves that they can be great grandparents.
