In this movie, a young man named Seth struggles to find his place in a small Adirondack village. He's torn between his artistic passions and his mundane life, and his relationships with others are complicated by his own conflicted desires. When a young Black man named Knowledge, who has escaped from a nearby prison, collapses in Seth's cafe, Seth takes him in and begins to nurse him back to health. As their friendship grows, Seth and Knowledge must confront the consequences of their actions, including the threat of a confrontation with the sheriff. Meanwhile, the relationships between fathers and their children are explored through several subplots, adding depth and complexity to the story.
