In the early 1900s, a young boy named Nugget runs away to an Oklahoma boomtown in search of his brother, who works at a luxurious casino and is romantically involved with the madam, Tacey Cromwell. Together, the trio sets out for a Colorado mining town in pursuit of respectability. While there, Clint finds employment at the local bank, and Tacey takes in another orphan, Seely. However, Clint's newfound happiness is threatened when he becomes the target of banker's daughter Judith Watrous, who will stop at nothing to eliminate the competition.
