In this reimagined version of Shakespeare's "Othello", the setting is a parallel reality in Russia during the 1991 military coup. Moscow replaces Venice, and Crimea replaces Cyprus. The Russian secret police general, Othello, is a brilliant and artistic individual who serves a ruthless organization, but has no illusions about the world. He constantly changes roles and remains at the top, yet karmic forces draw him and those around him into a deadly cycle of infidelity and defeat.
