A widowed rancher and her teenage son face a series of dramatic events that force them to reevaluate their relationships and the world around them. Set in a rural backdrop, the mother and son work together with their longtime friend and ranch foreman to manage the family cattle ranch. As they consider leaving the ranch and moving to San Francisco, a life-threatening accident strands the mother in the wilderness with only a wild wolf for company. Her son must then venture into the mountains to find her, but he soon encounters deadly poachers and finds himself in a desperate struggle to survive and rescue his mom.
