Marianne de Beaumaniour, a French heiress, travels to New Orleans to inspect her inherited plantation, accompanied by bondsmen bound for slavery. Charles, a nobleman posing as a bondsman, captures her attention. When she discovers his true identity, she sets him free, only to reunite with him later as the leader of pirates who invade their ship.
