In the 1860s, Amos Norton, a ruthless financier, seeks to dominate California's transportation industry by bankrupting two established companies: the Morrison & Lidell Stagecoach Company and the California Central Railroad. Norton hires notorious outlaw Black Bart to raid both companies, framing each for the other's robberies. As tensions escalate, Jeff Connor, a stagecoach driver, becomes embroiled in the conflict and begins to question the true culprits behind the chaos.
