Jerry Kingsley, a 56-year-old widower, co-owner of a garment manufacturer, is lonely and wants to find love. His sister, Evelyn, tries to arrange dates for him, but Jerry wants to find someone on his own. He meets Betty, a 24-year-old receptionist, and they start a tumultuous May-September relationship.
