The new Battleship Nadesico is captained by 14-year-old Ruri Hoshino, a genetically-engineered wunderkind. After a Martian separatist group initiates a successful military action, the Earth-Jovian government and military are paralyzed by confusion and internal bickering. Ruri must reassemble the retired crew of the original Nadesico to take on an unsanctioned mission to stop the Martian Successors and free Boson jump transportation.
