In 1876, the Comanches, led by Black Cloud, are the only Native American tribe resisting peace. After Black Cloud's brutal attack on a town, six soldiers are left to trek to the nearest fort. Along the way, they join forces with a stagecoach party and find water at an abandoned mission. As they're pinned down by Black Cloud's forces, they send an Indian boy who was previously Black Cloud's captive to the fort while attempting to negotiate with him, only to discover that he's facing a desperate struggle due to a severe lack of water.
