At the end of the 19th century, railway engineer Robert Adamson is sent to Africa to investigate stalled construction works. He befriends a young East African boy, Pasha, and a young woman, Jane Carlton, who is searching for her missing father. Upon arrival, Adamson faces challenges from a competing railroad company and hostile native tribes, while also helping Jane find her father.
