In the small Texas town of Dime Box, a young man named Bickford Waner takes on various jobs, befriending a couple, Reese and Molly Ford. However, Molly's seduction of Bickford leads to a scandal, revealing his true identity as the notorious train robber Kid Blue. Feeling humiliated, Bickford abandons his attempts to go straight and plots a crime.
