Michael Peck, a 104-pound sophomore, wants to join the wrestling team, but his parents, who value intellect, instead enroll him in the Science Club and make him sign a contract. He skips school with his friend Geiger and meets two senior girls, Emily and Becca. Peck develops a connection with Emily, despite their vastly different backgrounds and interests. As he works on his science fair project, inspired by Emily and his classes, it unexpectedly shakes the school's complacent system.
