A curse is placed on two deities, Bhagwan Shri Jagannath and Bhagwan Shri Balabhadra, by Devi Maa Lakshmi after they refuse offerings from a lower-caste woman. As a result, they are forced to wander from village to village, searching for food, unaware that Devi Maa and other gods are plotting to teach them a lesson.
