Jimmy Weston, a sailor, becomes a middleweight champ after a naval battle leaves him with a paralyzed arm. He turns pro, despite his girlfriend's objections, and trains with Doc Fuller. However, his manager, Tug Martin, tries to manipulate him into throwing a fight. Jimmy refuses, and when he knocks out an old fighter, Johnny Hart, he's wracked with guilt and afraid to use his right hand.
