Port Langlois, a young artist in Los Angeles, struggles with heroin addiction and an all-consuming passion for painting, making it hard for him to maintain relationships. After his girlfriend leaves and his sister kicks him out, he turns to Mexico in desperation. There, he reconnects with an old friend who helps him start his recovery journey, and he meets Aliah, a young Mexican woman who is also a painter. She is drawn to him and takes him to her family's farm, where her kindness and encouragement help him find his inner self.
