I Want to Go Home background

I Want to Go Home

A cranky American tourist is having a miserable time navigating the unfamiliar streets and cultural nuances of Europe.

A cantankerous American cartoonist, Joey Wellman, travels to Paris to reconnect with his estranged daughter Elsie, who's a student there. Initially overwhelmed by the culture shock, Joey longs to return home. Elsie, busy seeking Professor Christian Gauthier's feedback on her thesis, puts off meeting her father. However, Gauthier's fascination with American culture leads him to invite Joey and other Americans to his mother's house, where Elsie arrives just in time for a masquerade party, allowing her father to slowly appreciate French culture.
