In the desert, John Abbott returns to his land, only to be wounded by a hired gunman. He finds refuge with rancher Andrew Naab and his son, Marvin. Naab's daughter, Marian, falls for John, but is set to marry Snap Thornton to honor her father's promise. She flees on her wedding day, but is captured by outlaw Henry Holderness. John, the Naabs, and other ranchers band together to rescue her.
