The true story of Guy Gabaldon, a young boy from Los Angeles, who was raised by a Japanese-American foster family in the 1930s. When his foster parents were interned during the war, Gabaldon's knowledge of Japanese allowed him to become a heroic Marine, successfully convincing 800 Japanese soldiers to surrender during the intense battle for Saipan.
