In 1979 Christchurch, New Zealand, a young man named Angus spends a fortnight with his father, feeling worn out by the world. During this time, he becomes fascinated with the underground post-punk music scene. With the help of his friend Kirsten, Angus must overcome self-doubt, criticism, and a family tragedy to finally take the stage for the first time.
