A classical violinist turned country bassist, Graham Braithwaite must adapt to a new life on the road with Frank Hay and his band after their symphony folds. Initially struggling to fit in, Graham discovers Debbie, Frank's talented daughter, and helps her develop her vocals, eventually finding a sense of belonging within the band. However, tensions arise when rumors spread about Graham's supposed relationship with Debbie, causing rifts between him, his girlfriend Jane, and the band's leader Frank.
