In the midst of the American Civil War, a cunning Union spy navigates the streets of Richmond, Virginia, with the mission to capture the city's telegraph office and gain a strategic advantage for the North.

In October 1864, a Union spy posing as a wounded Confederate Captain infiltrates a telegraph office in Richmond, Virginia, but their plan is threatened when a southern agent becomes suspicious and uses a local girl, who is in love with the captain, to set a trap.
