Sam Clayton, a department store general manager, lives a modest life with his family despite his well-paying job. He's a good Samaritan who constantly helps others, often at his own financial expense. His generosity exasperates his employer and wife, who believe he's taken advantage of by those he helps. Lu, Sam's wife, worries that his good deeds come at the cost of their own happiness and financial security. As they struggle to save for their own home, their marriage is put to the test.
